An Investigation of the Effect of Corneal Thickness on Intraocular pressure Measurements Taken with TonoVet®

The aim of this study was to determine intraocular pressure (IOP) and central corneal thickness (CCT) measurements in healthy rabbits establish clinical reference values investigate the possible relationship between these measurements. included 40 eyes 20 New Zealand albino rabbits, aged 1.5-2 years. All were with no abnormalities, disease, or evidence glaucoma. An ultrasonographic pachymeter used measure CCT TonoVet® IOP. Correlations IOP examined. mean 388.2 ± 38.22 µm right eye 391.8± 59.18 left eye. measured as 16 3.76 mmHg 2.73 No correlation determined CCT, indicated that readings did not cause a deviation could be determined. There is need for further studies different animals effect on made TonoVet®.
